Generates a customizable avatar image from a name or initials. Automatically extracts initials from the provided name and creates a visually appealing avatar. Supports customization of image size (6-512 pixels), format (PNG or SVG), background color, font color, font size, character limit, and styling options (rounded, uppercase, bold, italic). Returns the avatar as binary image data that can be used directly in applications, saved to storage, or embedded in HTML. Input Fields
The name to create an avatar for. Can submit multiple names (first, middle, last). The API defaults to displaying two letters from the name. Examples: "Claire Florentz", "John Doe", "Sarah M. Johnson".
The size of the square avatar image in pixels. Defaults to 128 pixels. Available in sizes from 6 to 512 pixels.
The desired format of the returned image. Defaults to "png". Can also be "svg" for vector graphics.
The size of the font as a percentage of the image_size. Defaults to 0.7 (70%). Must be between 0.1 and 1.0.
The maximum number of characters displayed in the avatar. Defaults to 2. Characters are chosen first from distinct words, then from second letters of distinct words. For example, "John Smith" becomes "JS", "Claire Florentz" becomes "CF".
The hex color for the background (without the # symbol). Defaults to "335eea" (blue). Examples: "e4704a" (orange), "2ecc71" (green), "9b59b6" (purple). Do NOT include "#" prefix.
The hex color for the font (without the # symbol). Defaults to "ffffff" (white). Examples: "000000" (black), "333333" (dark gray), "ff0000" (red). Do NOT include "#" prefix.
Returns a rounded (circular) avatar picture instead of a square one. Defaults to false. Set to true for circular avatars commonly used in modern UIs.
Sets the initials in the avatar to all capitals. Defaults to true. Set to false to use original casing from the name.
Sets the initials in the avatar to italic font style. Defaults to false. Useful for stylistic variations.
Sets the initials in the avatar to bold font weight. Defaults to false. Recommended for better readability in smaller sizes.
Output Fields
The generated avatar image as a base64-encoded string or binary data. Can be used directly in <img> tags with data URI scheme or saved to file. Format depends on image_format parameter (PNG or SVG).
The MIME type of the returned image. Either "image/png" or "image/svg+xml" depending on the image_format parameter.
The size of the image file in bytes.
